Meg, I love your blog. Thank you for all of the work and insight. I will be in Paris alone in late March. Based on your review I’ve made a reservation at Chez George for lunch. I know this is a stereotypical American question, but do you know if they have menus in English. I’m lost in their handwritten French menu, but I want to go there to admire all of the traditional French options. Let me know if you know please. Thanks again

Meg, thank you. I look forward to the adventure. I live in Los Angeles and have had my share of fine dining. What I look forward to most in Paris is more than delicious food, but a classic experience that is specific to Paris (or at least to France). So, Chez Georges it is.

On that note, thanks to you, I’m also eating at L’auberge Bressane.

One of my favorite part of dining out of considering everything on the menu. In many ways it’s more fun than the meal itself because before you order, anything is possible. So, I will do as much research and create as many cheat sheets as necessary.

Thank you again for your work. It allows me to visit Paris in a small way every evening before I actually get there.

Hi Tariq! I think you're going to have a great time at Chez Georges. I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect this is the kind of place that does not have an English menu. I mean, they don't even have a website :)

However, I have a photo of their menu posted on Instagram here:

It doesn't change much. So if you wanted to spend a little time looking at it and typing words into Google translate, you could make yourself an excellent cheat sheet (and learn some good menu vocabulary). One hint: the color changes on the menu indicate different courses - blue for entrées (starters), red for plats (mains) and then blue again for cheese and desserts. The left hand side bar is full of wine recommendations.

Hope that helps!
