Just visited Le Pantruche. Wow, what a terrific little bistro. And what a steal (particularly, of course, the €25 lunch menu, which, for obvious reasons, became €35). Also loved the cheerful service. One of my new favorites in Paris (thanks to PbM😉).

Having read about Pantruche here, we had lunch there in September 2024 after spending the morning walking around Montmartre. Loved the food, atmosphere and service. I wish I had posted comments closer in time so I could remember details. I do remember that we had some kind of souffle for desert that was phenomenal.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Tony! I also loved their soufflé.

I thought the comment about "the culinary wasteland of Montmartre" was unnecessary - I spent six weeks in Montmartre last spring and enjoyed lovely meals at a number of neighborhood restaurants...

Glad you had a good time, Angela! Do you remember any favorite spots there?

I went back in early September after mannnnnny years and was underwhelmed. Maybe because there are so many interesting bistro takes now? I don't know. But I can't recall one single dish! Perhaps the menu is stronger deeper into autumn. Just wish it had been more memorable!

Interesting! This feels like a place that lives for the braise - so perhaps you're right that they're better in cold weather. Thanks for letting us know about your visit, Lindsey.

That’s fair! I’ll return :)
